Feng Shui of the month: Bing Shen, Yang Fire Monkey. August 2026

The Yang Fire Monkey month goes from the 8th of August to the 5th of September included in the solar calendar.

Here is an analysis of the Chi of this month and my practical advices.

Astrological season: We are now in the first month of the astrological autumn season. This season is made of the Monkey, Rooster and Dog signs.

The Monkey is an Metal sign and also the beginning of Water in the cycle of Elements.

The Stem this month is Bing or Yang Fire. It is the fire of the Sun, live giving, bold, bright and warm. It is the most illuminating of all Stems.

The combination of both see the Metal reflecing and being polished by the heat and Water reflecting it. It is a month where the Yang Chi is active and tumultous and the heat lingers, powering up the Earth within the Monkey too. Expect a loud month with big events in geopolitics, rather than a quiet one.

Jia Qi (sub-seasons, based on solar terms). They were devised on the Chinese calendar and might resonate a bit less in the Southern hemisphere.

Liqiu – Start of Autumn – August 7 to August 22
It is very first marker of autumn. Though the calendar says autumn begins, the intense summer heat often lingers for weeks, famously known as the “Autumn Tiger”.
 
Chushu – End of Heat – August 23 to September 6
Chushu means “the heat stops here”. It signals the true fading of intense summer temperatures, allowing cooler and more balanced weather to take hold.

Monthly Feng Shui

This month Northeast is a very sensitive sector, being both the month breaker and the 5 yellow. Leave this sector as quiet as possible; do not slam any door in this location of your home.

South is also a sensitive sector as it receives the 3 killings of the month as well as challenging annual afflictions. It is an area best left undisturbed all this year.
Southeast is also sensitive with the monthly robbery sha but as you’ll see the monthly and annual Flying Stars make up for it. Southwest receives the Grand Duke and therefore is a storage of Chi. It can be activated carefully.

For the good sectors now. West is where the monthly Peach blossom is located. You can spend time there to activate your romance luck or enhance your reputation. It can also be stimulated gently (more classical music than hard rock for example).

East, North, the centre and Northwest do not receive any afflictions but we’re going to see their Flying Stars combos.

Now let’s add the Flying Stars in the mix.

Flying Stars of the Bing Shen month

This is where the various Flying Stars land this month. On the left is the monthly Star map; the right illustration is monthly and yearly Stars combined.

The prosperous Stars are: 9 and 1 primarily, then 6 and 8

  • The prosperous Star 9 lands in East
  • 1 flies in the Southeast.
  • The 8 Star flies in Southwest
  • 6 lands in South
  • The negative 5 yellow is this month in Northeast

Le’s analyse the combination of monthly and annual Stars in each directions.

North has a negative monthly star. Despite its good annual 6, it is also the sector of annual afflctions.  This month keep the North sector of your home quiet.

Northeast gets the negative 5 yellow and is the month breaker. It is not a good sector to stimulate.  Keep Northeast quiet this month.

East see a very auspicious 9-8 combination.  You can spend time in the East and activate it this month.

Southeast benefits from a great 1-9 combo. The only minus is that it’s also where the robbery sha is. The good Flying Stars however can be used on specifi days and time, which I give in my membership. You can activate Souheast on specific days and spend time over there.

South is a sector badly affected this year.  Implement the yearly remedies in this sector. The monthly 6 is a good sector but not enough to activate it. Keep this area quiet this month too.

Southwest receives the auspicious 8 monthly star. However the combination with the 7 is notso  favorable. Furthemore this sector is also where the strongest Chi (Grand duke) is. You can spend time in Southwest this month but don’t activate it much.

West receives a 4/3 Wood combination. This combo can be good for studies and academic success but is weakened by the Metal in West. It is however the Peach blossom sector ofthe month. You can spend time over there.

Northwest receives a 3/2 Stars combination is querrelsome. You can spend time over there still but don’t activate.

The centre receives a 2/1 combination that is average. You can spend time over there.

To summarise:

  • East and Southeast are the best sectors of the month. Spend more time over there.
  • Southwest is neutral 
  • You can spedn time in West, Northwest and the centre without activating them.
  • South and North are not great
  • Northeast is the worst sector of the month

The flying stars is a numerological system that transcribes some movement of the Chi. So, to be simple; it is a map of the movement of the universal energy and this map is coded through a numerology that gives every star a number attributed to one of the 5 Elements. For example the Star 1 is considered auspicious and is a Water Star 5 is  negative, being linked to illness and calamities and is an Earth Star. The Stars move according to the cosmic flow; they are Stars movement every 2 hours, every day, every month and every year. In this section we are looking at the monthly Stars that have a great influence. The yearly Stars and the auspicious or inauspicious combination they form with the monthly Stars are also analysed and are the basis of the advice I give you in this section.

Keep in mind that your home has its own flying stars, a chart established through the date of construction, renovation or sometimes move-in date. Those stars MUST be analysed and remedied in priority. It is on top of those stars that we use the monthly and yearly stars.
